Implant Esthetics

As Dental Implants are becoming more predictable option for restoring missing tooth, esthetics around implant are getting more attentions naturally. Restoring a missing tooth in the anterior region with ideal form and function has been the hottest topics at implant symposium around the world. Below is an example of implant & orthodontic combined technique  to restore and improve esthetics.

	Patient present with #C mobile baby tooth and #7 exposed margin with receded gum line. Notice #7 gum line positioned higher than #8,9 Centrals. Comparing with patient's left side shows definite difference. Tooth #7 is actually #6 (canine) that has moved to place of #7 lateral position.  Notice from x-ray and wider base of #7 positioned indicating a canine (#6) moved to #7.
	#C retained baby tooth and #6 (canine) at #7 position. Treatment plan is to Extrusion #7 so we can bring #7 gum line below #8,9 Central and ,#C extrusion extraction so we can gain some bone and gum height to better accommodate the #6 dental implant.  Both #6,7 will be restored with Porcelain crowns Extrusion will bring the gum line and bone level #7, #C  down to more esthetically ideal position.
	Notice the discoloration of #C baby tooth indicating diseased tooth with mobility.
	Two months after Extrusion, notice the position of gum line #7, #C that is now below gum line of #8,9
	#7 re-preped and temporized right after extrusion and bonded some resin at lingual side of #7 to #8 to hold the new position of #7 as there can be some relapse. #7 gum line is now more esthetically pleasing as it is below #8,9 gum line. #C also gained few millimeters of bone & gum height.
	# C extraction done
	#6 Dental Implant placed in the place of #C We can go with immediate loaded implant with temporary or immediate placement.
	#6 Dental implant with prepped dental abutment or implant post ready for final implression.
	#6,7 Temporized and shade taken after impression.
	Final PFM Restorations #6,7 placed. Due to #7 with wider base of canine, it is very difficult match #7 to #10 but overall esthetic has definitely improved.
