what is Dental implants:

Dental implants are replacement tooth roots. Dental Implants provide a strong foundation for permanent or removable prosthesis (replacement teeth) that are made to match your natural teeth. They are manufactured from biologically neutral pure Titanium that is accepted by the human body and these implants fuse with the jawbone to form a secure foundation for tooth replacement.

Dental Implants are surgically inserted into the jawbone, providing complete support to Dentures or other replacement products. Over time the jawbone will attach itself to the implant. Once this occurs small posts may be fastened to the implant. Reconstructive Dentistry via Crowns or Bridges or  Dentures supported by Mini Implants or other replacement teeth can then be attached permanently into place.

The patient will have a dramatic increase in stability as well as reduced irritation, better taste and oral sores (generally associated with Dentures). Biting pressure will also be restored, enabling patients to consume foods they would have done previously.

There are two basic procedure types of implants assuming your quality and quantity of bone is adequate to place dental implant. They are conventional or immediate implants and immediate implants may be followed by immediate loading of crowns and bridges known as immediate loaded implants.

Cost of Dental Implants:

Dental Implantology is a fairly new area of dentistry even though it has been around for sometime and the costs are still high. It is mainly due to the more predictable Osseteointergration now days. As time goes on and more and more dentists are involved in these procedures, the cost will come down significantly. Presently, only few dental insurance start to cover dental implants and most dental insurance does not cover dental implants.

There are two major costs involved in dental implant treatment. The first is the implant itself and the second is the restoration (Abutment and tooth or teeth) that is anchored by the implant. Fees for these services vary considerably. Below is the procedures you will be charged for and fees are just approximation of area fees and they may not depict exact fee of our office.

If you have good quality of bone height and width

• Dental implant placement (surgically)- $700~$1500
• Dental implant Abutment ( post that screws on the implant)- $500-$800
• Dental implant Restorations ( Porcelain Fused to High noble metal)- $ 1000~ $1500
• Implant supported dentures and bridges are more complicated form of restorations. Please call our office for any questions as they are custom type of restorations.

Supplemental Ancillary Procedures ( Necessity of these procedures depend on each individual case )

• sinus lift (closed, meaning thru implant site) -$1500 per tooth
• sinus lift (open, meaning open flap technique or also called window technique) - $2800 per quadrant
• ridge Augmentation ( Autogenous or allograft ) - $2500
• socket graft - $600
• guided tissue regeneration ( membrane need to cover after grafting) - $ 600
• Autogenous Graft Iliac or Tibia ( to build height and width of bone)- $ 8500

The fee per implant placement could be different also by the complexities of the procedures. Range for the fee is due to situations where we might charge more or less for a particular patient treatment due to the difficulties or complexities of the treatment situation. For Example: If Implant being placed at a remote area with difficult to reach area, poor bone quality, Bad Angle for restoration, esthetic Zone and etc will be usually charged more. Implant being placed is at easy to reach area with good quality of bone and esthetic is not a concern will be charged less.

Restorations on implants vary to a much greater degree (depends on a case) and individual can pay as much as several thousand dollars for a single restoration up to over $80,000.00 for a complete rehabilitation involving dental implants. Fortunately, there are implant restorations available for most people that are in the realistic range and allow many more people today to find a suitable solution to replacing missing teeth.
